Free Days
California Botanic Garden offers Free Admission (while supplies last) to all on Martin Luther King Day (third Monday in January), Public Gardens Day (select date in mid-May), California Biodiversity Day (September 7th), and "Green Friday" (the day after Thanksgiving in November). Ticket reservations for Free Days generally become available about a month in advance and are available on our Events & Classes page.
Museums for All (SNAP/EBT Cardholders)
California Botanic Garden is a member of the Museums for All program. CalBG offers free admission to SNAP/EBT cardholders (with valid photo ID) plus up to four immediate household members during regular Garden hours. Offer is redeemable at our Admissions Kiosk and is not valid for ticketed special events or classes. SNAP/EBT cardholders are also eligible for a special discounted membership rate of $25. Please inquire at our Admissions Kiosk or contact our Advancement Office at (909) 625-8767 x 221.
LA County Library & LA Public Library Discover and Go Passes
Library card holders in the LA County Public Library and LA Public Library systems can reserve up to two free passes per year to California Botanic Garden (dates available starting June 1, 2023). Family pass (2 adults and up to 3 children) reservations and more info are available to library cardholders at the LA County Library Discover and Go Website or the LA Public Library Discover and Go Website.
Blue Star MuseumCalifornia Botanic Garden offers free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve as part of the Blue Star Museum program. This program begins on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2024 and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024.
The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military–Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard–including Reservists, National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance into a participating Blue Star Museum.
