Oaks are ecologically some of the most important plants in California and are one of the most dazzlingly diverse groups of woody plants in the Northern Hemisphere. If you want to get to know these long-revered plants better, get started with this introductory to intermediate class. We’ll practice identifying California native oaks both in the classroom and by walking around the Garden. We’ll also talk about some of the ways these plants are biologically and ecologically amazing and the work that California Botanic Garden is doing to conserve them.
Please Note: This class will involve about 45 minutes of walking and talking about the oaks grown at the Garden. We welcome people of any physical ability. Let us know if you would like a cart ride during this portion of the class.
